I shall be glad to learn whether

you are able to give an assurance

on this point. I would suggest

that it might be desirable to seek

from the Admiralty a final

date for the evacuation of the

present aepôt as a comition of

meeting their convenience with

regard to the final payment.

he notes with satisfaction that the

Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty

agree not to press for the immediate

payment of the final instalment of

8500,000 of the Hong Kong Govern-

ment's contribution towards the cost

of the new Naval Armament Depôt at

Stonecutters Island, and would raise

no objection to the loan of dollars

equivalent to £5,000 sterling being

withheld beyon the end of the

financial year 1934-5, if necessary,

of the aerial ropeway.
